Australia is one place where there have been a huge number of new hotels developed in all of the key cities. Sydney, where the Olympic Games were held now hosts some 10,000 new rooms and apartments, almost all of which now feature on Hotel Reservations.cx. One of the classiest additions is the Westin Sydney, which forms part of the fully restored General Post Office in Martin Place. In Mandurah in Western Australia, one hour's south of Perth is the new Metro Suites Meadow Springs Resort. Other hotels on the way include Hotel Ibis Ellerslie and the Novotel Ellerslie in New Zealand, the Hotel Ibis at Sydney Airport, Australia, the Armada Hotel, East Timor which is to open in mid 2001. Tryp Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba has added 900 additional rooms. Then there is the Breezes Costa Verde, Cuba, Tryp Varadero, Cuba and the Breezes Negril, Jamaica which will open in 2001. Quality Suites, Brazil, Melia Comfort, South Tower, Brazil and Comfort Suites, Brazil are all either just opened or opening shortly. Paradisus Tenerife, Spain will open in 2001. Starhotel Monginevro, Italy is adding 55 rooms to be completed by 2002. Starhotel Anderson, Italy will have renovations complete by 2002. Scandic Hotel, Germany will open in late 2001. Country Suites by Ayres, California, is in the finishing stakes as is the Executive Inn Edmonton Airport, Canada. Executive Plaza Hotel Calgary West, Canada will open in early 2001. The Westin Charlotte, North Carolina will open in 2002. The Miami Beach Marriott at South Beach, Florida has just opened as has Aladdin Resort & Casino Complex, Las Vegas.
